1. Skype allows you to video chat, IM, You can interact with a computer from your phone, you can send a text message from skype to someone elses phone

Phone features: Contact List - allows you to search the skype directory to find and add them, or you can create contacts by manually typing in the phone number or importing them from your iphone directory.

Chat: You can send instant messages back and forth, cannot recieve pictures

Call: You can call a computer with sound capability, or another iphone.

History: Lets you know past conversations, and different skype actions that you recently did.

My Info: Lets you upload a picture, put a quote (status), edit your profile/make a profile, turn call forwarding on or off, you can buy skype credit, create a voicemail or online number.

From an iphone, Skpe allows you to chat visually (instant message) and normally talk with voices. You can also send graphic animations from the phone to a computer and have it work, but not to another phone. You are also able to create a profile for yourself, which you would not normally do on a cell phone.
From a desktop/laptop Skype is quite interesting! You are able to video chat live, sound, picture and all! You are also able to send and receive graphics, like someone dancing. You can also send a text message to someone's actual phone and pictures and files to other computers. You are also able to buy stuff from the skype store inculding credits to call people who are out of the country and around the world on other continents. The cool thing about a laptop that has wireless is you would be able to walk around with the built in camera and film/show other things on video chat.
Some advantages of this software are: it's free. You can talk to people around the world on video chat for free. You are also able to make much cheaper calls around the world as well. You can also send instant files and pictures over the computer. Cell phones don't allow you to video chat, you can only talk and text for the most part. The only disadvantages are it's not mobile unless it's on your iphone or laptop. Also, it does cost money if you're looking to call other countries.
Overall, our group thinks Skype is very user friendly and those of us that had never used Skype think it's pretty cool and will be definitely using it in the future. It is very easy to use and self-explanatory to understand.

In this blog one guy wants to know what type of games to play with his boyfirend. In this post there are other people who voice there opinion on what games they like to play with their boyfriends. On guys says he likes to play Resident Evil 5 with his boyfriend. Another comments on it and says they never play Xbox 360 games with there boyfriend. As you continue to read the blog others comment on it and I found a comment that someone else posted which said, "Hubby is not so good at co-op games so we just pay scrabble on the iPhone."

The next post is an opinion on what they think about the choices the firt guy picked and what his favorite games are. The gamers on this blog get into a discussion about the new Xbox 360 Project Natal and what games they would like to see them come out with. A few of the gamers say they would like to see a fighting game come out for a good workout. Another guy says he would like to see a horror game come out, but it might scare him too bad to play. One guys said he would like to see a sequal to Seaman because man people have wanted that to happen for years now.

The Sims games are simulations that allow networking and are published by EA Games. The Helicopter game (published by SeeThru.co.uk) and Lunar Landing (published by Plug-In Media) are arcade. Call of Duty is shooting and is published by Activision. Call of Duty allows networking. EA Games also created NHL Hockey, Cricket 07, and NBA Live 2001. SeeThru.co.uk created Ant Arena, Incriminati, and Simon Says, Simon Forgot. Also created by Plug-In Media is Lunar Landing 3D, Pong 3D, and Extreme Pamplona. Activivion has also created Doom 3, Quake, and Wolfenstein.

Mario Kart, published by Nintendo, is a racing game. NES and Little Big Planet are platform. Little Big Planet allows networking. Guitar Hero is rhythm/music and is published by Activision. NCAA Football 2010 is a sport game published by EA Sports. NES is also published my Nintendo. Little Big Planet is published by Sony Europe. Nintendo has also published Cars Race-O-Rama, Oscar in Toyland, and Sideswiped. Activision also published DJ Hero, Guitar Hero 80s, and Guitar Hero Smash Hits. EA Sports published Fifa Soccer 10, NBA Live 10, and Grand Slam tennis. Sony Europe has also published Sly Cooper, Ape Escape, and Lemmings.

Mobile
The devices allow tilting during game play and it is easier to take around with you. Sudoku and Bejeweled are puzzle games. Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2010 is a sports game published by EA Sports. Sudoku Bejeweled are published Astroware Limited. EA Sports has created Madden NFL 10, Fifa 09, and NBA Street. Also created by Astroware Limited created Alchemy, Atomica, and Big Box Blox.

This is a short documentary on street photography. What street photography is photograpy taken while walking down the street. The main photographer in the video was named Eric Miller who is a street photographer. He explains in the documentary that to be a street photographer you have to step out of your box and just take pictures of anything and everything that is interesting to you. He goes on and explains that people on the street are like coral in the ocean so interesting that why whould you not what to take a picture of it.

Of the three providers, only iTunes required an account to be created for the user to be able to download mp3s. New-mp3s had the largest selection of music downloads, however some of the download links were dead, and iTunes had the smallest selection of free downloads. Insound was in the middle of the road, it had singles from certain ables that were free for download as well as the whole albums available for purchase.

The radio option used in AOL music was not as refined or customizable as the Pandora and Last.FM options; instead of starting with the artist of choice and moving to similar artists, AOL music only had radio stations for specific genres. Each of the three sites gave options to search for artists of Women's music with favorable results.

Lab Exercise 9

The Pandora service gave us many personalization and interactive options to use/choose from. We were able to personalize our playlist based on song, artist, album, or all. We were also given the option once we were listening to a song to "add variety" by typing in another artist or song and Panndora would "mesh" our preferences. Pandora also let us interact with the player by giving us the option to "thumbs up" or "thumbs down" a song, after which it would bring more songs like that one as well, or bring less songs like that one. Or, you can just skip the song all together. Also on the player is a menu where you can tell Pandora you are tired of the song, ask them why the song was selected, move that song to another "station" previously created by you, etc.
Overall, all of the artists recommended using the Last.FM search option were comparable enough to the original artist in their styles and sounds. No irregularities were found among the recommendations, though using the default search option with Last.FM does not begin a playlist/radio with the artists and their songs, which is what the Pandora search defaults to. Using the radio search option on Last.FM immediately begins a playlist of songs from the chosen artist and similar artists. The Last.FM radio player allows you to tag or ban the current track (thereby removing it from your playlist), stop the playlist, or continue to the next track. There is also an option to enable/disable to addition of songs listened to through the playlist to your personal profile, and you can choose to share the track or purchase it from Amazon, iTunes, or 7digital. The inability to pause the tracks is unfortunate, instead you're forced to stop the entire player and get kicked back out to the initial artist search page.
As we used each service, Pandora and Last.FM, we found that at times each service would suggest the same, or similar, artists. Last.FM gave artist suggestions that one could choose from rather than spitting out a specific song like Pandora did. So, overall, I would say that the services offered comparable recommendations. I would say that within each service, the recommendations were pretty much right on, given that it is a computer technology and all music is different. But, for example, if I typed in Randy Rogers to listen to and the service suggested Eli Young Band or Cross Canadian Ragweed, as each service did, they have hit my interests and music style of choice dead on. Overall, if we typed in a pop artist, we were given pop suggestions, and if we typed in a country artist, we were given country suggestions, so therefore I would say that the recommendations from each service were very similar.
